On a sunny day with a northerly wind, LIV’s Art in the Park unveiled Mordi, the pelican; finishing a triad of low-poly art murals. Over fifty spectators cheered as artists Byron Ives, Gail and Mike Farrell revealed their latest mural painting. Mordi is 12 feet tall, joining Dolphin Dolly (2019) and Sea Turtle Myrtle (2021). Mordi was inspired by one of Byron’s photographs of our many pelican friends in Laguna Madre Bay. Our community is appreciative and grateful for the efforts, time and talent of these artists in connecting our sea-faring friends with Long Island Village. As one villager stated “We have a mural art gallery in our park!”
