The Bridge Board has informed us that the tide has turned and they were able to leave the bridge open to traffic at this time (3:45 pm).  They anticipate locking it back at approximately 6 p.m.this evening (Monday 9/6/10). We will try to keep you posted of any changes as we receive them.

It has been reported that the atmospheric conditions are favorable for Tropical Storm Hermine to strengthen into a minimal hurricane before making landfall. Experts expect it to land just south of Brownsville.  Winds in our area could be as strong as 60 to 70 mph. The biggest threat will be heavy rain between 9 p.m. tonite and 3 a.m. tomorrow morning and possible flooding.

Please take this time to secure any outside objects that could become projectiles in the high winds. Evacuation is not being considered at this time. However if you are in a trailer or high profile vehicle, you might be wise to relocate inland for the night.
